I know I've seen cake recipes where you "baste" the top of the cake with a simple syrup - keeps it moist and adds flavor. Does anyone do that with a cupcake? Any suggestions as far as flavors?
I'm just a hobby baker and I was wondering the same thing too. Recently I put it on test. I made some orange chiffon cupcake and when it's fresh out of the oven, heated the simple syrup with some orange Zest and brushed the syrup on top of the cupcakes. And I can say it was worth doing it .
