Summer Evening Theme Cake, Help!!
Decorating By sweetjessica Updated 12 Jul 2010 , 8:30pm by sweetjessica
I got a request for a summer evening cake, I am totally clueless on ideas.
It is a 10" round cake, and she wants it like a sunset, so i am going to airbrush orange and yellow.
She would also like lighting bugs on it.
Any other ideas on how to make this cake "cute" I am lost!!!!!!
Could you fade it all the way up to stars?
If the sunset was at the very bottom then faded to a pale purple-ish blue for the lightening bugs and got darker. You could do the top with white stars on a dark blue background.
What about a moon?
I picture it more with the sunset on top -- with streaky oranges and pinks in the sky -- and then a dark silhouette of trees or houses going across the bottom. Spots of glowy yellow for the lightning bugs against the trees.
Thank you for your ideas, i dont know why i am having such a hard time with this cake, maybe it is because the customer is a little difficult!!!!!
When i get this crazy cake done i will for sure post a picture!
Thanks again for your reply's!
Maybe a lake theme, with a canoe and a campfire on the beach on one side with the sunset on the other?
Maybe half a cookie frosted as the setting sun - sinking into the cake. If you add water, you can do some reflection of the light in it.
Ok, So after talking with her she likes this cake that i found here on CC.......

I also love it, but she doesnt want the cowboy theme. She wants a summer theme. She also likes the Fire fly idea and wants me to put a jar on top with fondant firefly's in it and around the cake.
I was thinking that a silhouette i could put on it would be this picture, or something similar........
with a little "firefly in her hands?????
Whats your thoughts, does it need more, would trees be cute on it, i need someone to bounce some ideas off of, i am having a hard time with this one!!!!
