Would it look very good to do an indented diamond grid patteren on bc? Is it even possible? I have seen it in fondant and I do have a tool that would make the pattern, but it seems like for bc I would need to make the pattern with royal icing or bc. It would not be indented if I did. Anyone ever done the indented version in bc? Hope that makes sense.

Yes, you can do it on butter cream cakes. The bakery I worked for did it all the time. You need to have a VERY COLD cake to do it but it's possible. And it looks great. Just be very careful with your measurements. Good luck!

Check my pictures for the 5 layer cake with mauve roses on top. I let the buttercream crust and cooled it only a bit and it worked well, just don't be too agressive.
