Okay, I know I'm driving everyone nuts with this whole pistachio thing, but... I tried mixing the pistachio puding mix into cool whip for a filling, taste good, but I want more Umph to it, if that makes any sense. So this weekend on my umptenth practice run for this wedding cake I was going to try making pistachio pudding, adding some dream whip and pistachio oil flavoring. Do any of you have any suggestions, ideas to make this a great filling?
Also, I was so trying to make this filling one that doesn't need refrigerated b/c it's for a beach wedding, mind you I live 4 hours from the beach and the cake will not be stored in a venue of any sorts, just a condo untill the reception. So I won't have room in a fridge to keep cool. That is why I'm so worried about it.
I always use pistachio flavoring in pistachio fillings- and it sure gives the umph! macarons, icecream, frostings, fillings, cakes and so on. It's one of my favourite flavors so I use it a lot HTH!
