I have been searching FOREVER for a good, light, fluffy, made from scratch-not WASC- white cake. I have a recipe for a good "dense" white cake, but not a light one. Anyone? I'm tired of trying so many and finding nothing good
Welcome to "The White Scratch Cake Seekers" club! I've tried probably at least a dozen different recipes and have yet to find one that's edible....yes, that even includes the much revered WASC. They end up either dry, crumbly, tasteless, rubbery, or just plain gross. I don't know what it is with white scratch cakes but this topic comes up on a regular basis and I've not yet found a recipe that I would consider serving to anyone. So far a doctored white box mix is all I'm comfortable serving.
Great I have an awesome chocolate cake recipe. I wonder what would happen if I just omit the cocoa?
