I am making a golf cake for my brother in law's birthday tomorrow. I made a fondant golfer holding a club that I want to stand on the t-box. How do I get him to stand and not just fall right over?

I did this once and put a dowel up through one leg and into the body when I sculpted the figure. I'm not sure how to make him stand without the support. Can you stick toothpicks or sucker sticks up through his legs without breaking them?

he has straws in his legs so i have him standing on a styrofoam drying being held with toothpicks, but i didn't the toothpicks would do it on the cake. Maybe some skewers. worst case i will just put him on right when we serve it i guess

When I made a golfer I used skewers that were the same hieght as the cake so when I stuck him on the cake he was supported well. HTH

Thanks for the help ladies. I think I will use skewers and just put him on when I get to the party.
