I have just made a gutsy move from Miami, Florida with a stable high school chemistry teacher job, to Las Vegas, Nevada in pursuit of becoming a pastry chef. After I get some experience, I plan to move on to The Culinary Institute of America to get even more training. I made the move to Las Vegas to gain experience from well trained pastry chefs, but I am growing weary that I will not find a job to gain this experience. Any tips on getting my foot in the door? I had a small cake business back home, but that is the extent of my experience thus forth. Thanks for any advice!
If Rylan reads your post maybe he can give you some pointers. He's extremely talented and in Las Vegas.
