I'm looking for tips on how to make this cake. I'm guessing this is a fondant/buttercream combo. How do i get the sides a seperate color from the top? How can i get a perfect cut for the top of mikeys head/ears with fondant. All help/tips/ideas/comments are soooo greatly appreciated. Making this cake in 2 weeks.
Hi, I could be wrong but this looks to be a carved cake. Also, I think that maybe the colors are done one at a time (ice then let crust one color then the other) in an effort for them not to run into each other. Then the border covers the connection at the seam. For the face/ears, maybe you can get an image and blow it up to the correct size for your cake then roll your fondant thin and trace to fit. Maybe some of our fellow CCrs with more experience can help you too.
