Any ideas on how to do the railing for a cruise ship cake? The quicker and easier, the better. I have spent so much time on this. Though, doesnt everything take longer than you anticipated when it comes to cake decorating!?

Depending on how large your cake is, and how much time you have for the pieces to dry, I would think gumpaste through an extruder.

Royal icing...and fence sections.

Draw whatever scale will work for the cake on paper, use a black marker to trace it...overlay parchment, and pipe it out

That's the first option that came to mind - let us know, and post a picture! Can't wait to see it!!!

depending on your cake size, lollipop sticks, dyed and cut into shorter lenghts, not edible of course, small pretzel sticks, any pasta - spaghetti etc. gumpaste if you have time.
