I am making a candy themed cake. What should I make the lollipops and candy pieces out of? Fondant or Gum Paste or what? Also, do you have a good recipe for these? Thanks

I'd be bummed if I got a cake that was candy themed and all the candy tasted like gumpaste!!! Use REAL candy!!!

I agree- if it is candy theme- especially for a kid- use the read stuff. I made candy canes and lollypops ((on my christmas cake)) and also the gingerbread man out of gumpaste- but used real candy for the gumdrops and peppermints.

It depends on how much time you want to spend. But if it's for a kid- I agree- use the real stuff!

I agree! Use real candy, the possibilities are endless. I have been thinking of doing a candy themed cake--and can't wait to go shopping for all of the candy!
