How do I make a cake that looks like fried chicken, mashed potatoes and brown gravy? Thank you.

They did something like this in the first Hello, Cupcake book. Couldn't find images directly from them, but here's a link to one who credits them.

Does the chicken, potatoes and gravy need to be cake or can it be rice krispy treats covered in fondant? I personally would do the plate as the cake. Make the chicken out of rice kripsy treats and carve the potatoes out of a small maybe 3" cake and cover both in fondant then drizzle chocolate ganache on the mashed potatoes. HTH!

Thank you. Both suggestions help. I think it can be fondant figures. What's the best way to get a really great "fried" look for the chicken?
