I got a last minute order for a wine bottle cake. I'm going to make it like the bottle in the crate which I've seen plenty of pictures of. I called the local chocolate shop and asked them to make a full size wine bottle for me from chocolate since I don' thave enough time to get a mold for myself. I need to put a label on it and I'm not sure of the best way to do this. I've thought of covering the bottle in fondant and painting the details, but I've never covered milk chocolate in fondant, if it'll even work. So my questions are:

What should I make the label out of for the bottle?
How well does fondant work when covering milk chocolate?

Thanks so much in advance! PS....It's wednesday and they need the cake on friday afternoon!

Hi, I can't answer your question about covering chocolate w/fondant bc I hv never done it. But, I was thinking that maybe you do an edible image for your label. It saves you time and its perfect for projects like this.
