I want to practice using Wilton tips with icing and want to go on the cheap as I practice.

I have been using Indydebi's bc with about a half cup of butter replacing a half cup of crisco. Should I use this or something else?

1 cup shortening
2 tblsp water
1 lb. powder sugar

This is for stiff bc and a tsp. of water at a time to get the consistency you need. When you finish practicing, put back in bowl and re-use.

If you are worried about using it all up, you can practice on waxed paper or some other "wipe-able" surface, you can just scrape it back into your bag (like the Wilton practice boards).
