Hi,
I am in the U.K. and am looking to set up a business from home. My husband and I have decided to re0do our kitchen and we want to make sure that it is 1.) easy to work in 2.) complies with UK requirements and 3.) looks pretty!! I would really appreciate some ideas on storage, surface types, and lay-out. It also has to be a family kitchen as well, so I can;t completely take it over with cake tins and icing!

It's usually fairly easy to get registered in the UK. Contact your local council (environmental health dept) and they will help with what you will need. Ideally they like you to have a utility room for your washing machine and at least a 1 1/2 bowl sink and some counties don't like it if you have pets. Also take a look at the food standards website, they have Safer Food, Better Business pack that they will send out free of charge, It's very helpful. HTH
