For some reason, the pink hues (soft pink, electric pink, deep pink, fuscia, etc.) of Americolor are SUPER photosensitive!! I did a wedding cake this weekend (picture posted) that was supposed to have a fuscia ribbon and bow, but as soon as the cakes hit sunlight (it was an outdoor wedding), the groom and I literally stood there and watched the bows and ribbons turn from fuscia to lavender!!

Does anyone know a brand of food coloring that won't fade in sunlight?

It seems to me that only the pinks are very photosensitive. I've never had a problem with any other Americolor hues. In fact, they are all that I use due to their consistency and color choices!

ChefMaster No Fade Pink and No Fade Purple are great.

If you want a range of colors, powdered colors by Crystal Colors ( don't fade, either.

Oh thanks!! I'm going to try them out!! It's so embarrassing to have the "wrong color" at delivery when you had the "right color" in the bakery!!
