I have recently made several cakes for friends and family and am now getting some requests. But I am bad about asking a decent price for my cakes that is both reasonable for the customer and fair to me. So how do I figure the cost of a cake??

Also, a chart or something to take the guess work out of how much cake to feed X# of people?? I found one chart for wedding cakes that gives servings per round and square pans.

The last cake I made I used a 1/2 sheet size jelly roll pan x three layers, and used both BC & MMF

There is all sorts of fantastic advice in this thread:

(along with many, many, MANY others here)

The price matrix is here:

Make sure you can legally sell cakes out of your home before you do anything about pricing.
