I Found Some Dowel Rods At Kroger

I found a great deal at Kroger. They are 30" long dowel rods in a package already sharpened, 4 to a package for $1.99. I thought they would be great for doweling my tall cakes with. They are designed for smores.

I use straws instead of dowels...but for the center dowel I use the bbq skewers (like the smores dowels) I can get 100 in a pkg. for 1.99. And like you said they already have a sharpened point.

these are thicker than the bbq skewers though. Do the bbq skewers hold up pretty well? I also use the straws for the tiers.

yes they hold fine I like them because they are smaller/thinner
