I am trying to find a good cake mix or recipe that I can cut and shape without it crumbling. Anybody have any ideas or anything?

I use this one:
http://cakecentral.com/recipes/1972/durable-cake-for-3d-and-wedding-cakes

It makes a thick batter and a dense, but tasty cake that is easy to work with.

A lot of people also like to use WASC.

Both of these recipes can be altered by changing liquids, adding extracts, etc, to change the flavor.

Ditto..I use the "durable 3D" recipe as well for carved/shaped cakes.
