I just tried mixing Nutella with plain buttercream icing yesterday and it's really good. No amounts-just mixed about 50/50 or so.
By the way I love Nutella!!! I make some really good chocolate truffles with it! Too many weight watchers points for me to enjoy some right now though!!
i've made moussey-cream with nutella that was divine. i can't quite recall the proportions, but it was non-dairy liquid whipped topping (whipped stiff), and then i added the whipped stuff to the nutella in small portions, to slacken it off and make it lighter, and then folded the nutella-cream mixture (with my mixer on low) into the remaining whipped stuff...because the cream is cold it "sets up" the nutella, so it's fairly firm and workable. it made a nice, fluffy filling/icing which i used on two very large slab cakes for a wedding a few years back.
Thanks for the idea, smediagirl. My husband loves nutela. His 30th birthday party is next week and I've been planning a chocolate cake and chocolate theme for his party.
So now he is going to have chocolate-nutella icing!!! Perfect!!!
