How is the best way to use luster dust and how many coats should I use? I usually mix it with a little vanilla extract, but it always seems to be clumpy, streaky and not very dark.

I have good luck with lemon extract. You can put on multiple coats and it wont streak. The vanilla will pull the bottom coat off and you'll get streaks.

That's exactly what happens. I'll try the lemon extract. Thanks!

The other thing you can try is clear alcohol such as vodka or gin. The alcohol evaporates quickly and so it dries faster. I tend to paint a section and then blend it with a large make up brush which blends any lines together.

I always use a clear liquor (such as kirsch) because it dries fast and shiny.
