I have never had to make gold fondant and I am having the worst time trying to achieve a gold color. What colors do I need to mix to get gold or is there an actual gold gel you can buy?
Please help...cake is due tomorrow!

i used Wilton Golden Yellow to get to a yellow color, then i painted on gold luster dust mixed with confectioner's glaze.

You need luster dust. If the whole cake needs to be gold, then you can airbrush using luster dust mixed with vodka, paint on with natural bristle paint brush (at Michaels clear with blue tip) dust mixed with vodka or buy the luster spray. For decorations just paint on.

Yea...I think it's time I invest in an airbrush machine!!!

I went ahead and added a litle brown and the gold isn't to where I LOVE it, but it'll do for this cake. Thanks for the help!
