I am making an upright tombstone cake....I baked two 1/2 sheet cakes and I am planning to cut each one into three sections and stack them all on top of each other ....I intend to do the stacking/support similar to this

I am just really worried it is going to fall over during transportation. It will be about 11 inches wide, 4 inches deep and 12 inches tall.
I have done a tall cake before (the Dr.Seuss one in my photos, which was 10inches tall)
Does this sound like It is going to go okay or should I switch gears now?
like this? http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1424092.html
then I'd do this using a wood base:

(could even do two -- one near each end)
------
are you covering it in fondant?
might you be able to lay it down on it's backside during delivery and then tip up into place?
thanks so much doug....I Actually forgot that I asked this question and went ahead with my plan....Praying it works out okay. I think your way would have been much better...ooh well....Good lesson for next time. I seriously need to learn how to construct things like that...Or get my husband to work less and help me
