I have tried the wet spatula technique & changed frosting consitancy however, it still seems like I am not able to make the cake smooth!

Does anyone have some tips for me? Should I try a different type of spatula?

I use the paper towel method, wait for the buttercream to crust then use a paper towel to smooth it out. Everyone I have talked to suggests using Viva paper towels becasue they don't have a print on them....I couldn't find them anywhere and ended up using parchment paper...works preety good, I use that for my buttercream finishes.
