I am making a cake for a 1 year old's birthday party and I need to know what I need to do to make fondant decorations stick to the sides of a buttercream cake. Please help!!
I just did a cake last weekend that had fondant circles and stripes on buttercream icing. I had no problems with it. I popped my bc iced cake in the fridge while I got my fondant supplies and stuff out. Once I started making my shapes, I brought the cake back out and used a litte paint brush and lightly brushed the backs of the circles with a little bit of water and the stuck on fine! The party wasn't until the next day and there were no problems with any of it. Hope this helps! I love this site! I've learned so much just by reading the forums!
If you work quickly, you can just slap the fondant decos on the bc before it crusts.
