Cherry Filling

I have a request for yellow cake and cherry filling. Any recipes out there for a cherry filling of sorts? As always your help is greatly appreciated!!

I don't know how large your cake is, but for a large cake, I would take 4 cups of cherries and approx. 2 cups of water, 1 cup of sugar, pinch of salt, teaspoon of vanilla and bring to a boil, stir in 1/8 cup of cherry jello and a thickening agent (I use clear jel) that has been dissolved in a small amount of water. Enough to thicken to the consistency you want. Should be yummy!
