When I make MMF I use the following:

500g marshmallows, 1kg pure icing sugar & 2 TBS water

Just wondering if I halved this recipe do you think it would make enough to cover a single layer 8" cake? I just getting tired of making too much & it going to waste all the time

Thanks icon_smile.gif

Hi Megan,

I think you would be fine halving the recipe, it should make enough. I read somewhere that people had made little batch's of MMF for coloring etc.

Hi Megan,

I make small batches all the time. I use 8 ounces of marshmallow, 1 1/2 tablespoons of water and 2 1/2 cups of sifted icing sugar. Are you throwing out the extra? It will keep for quite a while if stored in an airtight bag.

Thanks for your replies.

Lisa - I do keep them however it always seems like I'm needing a different colour to the ones I already have made. I actually already have some pink made up which is what I need next however I'm not sure if it will be enough
