Help -- How To Make Black Royal????

I've added globs of americolor super black to my royal and am still at charcoal gray. How do you do it?

you actually have to let it sit for a few mins...a lot of times mine still looks gray and it turns black soon after. icon_smile.gif

It's a bit like painting. If your doing black start with a dark under coat. Yesterday I was colouring fondant so I started with purple, worked it through and then went black. You could use green but I think purple makes a better black.

how much are you trying to color? I typically only color 1-2 cups max and it takes less than a T (not sure exact amount) to color that much. like a pp said, make sure to give it time to set too.

Thanks, guys! Time did the trick. It came out black as night after I waited about half an hour. You guys are the best!
