I am wanting to make a small pond on one of my cakes and I'm not sure what the best way to go about it is. Any ideas? I am icing in buttercream.

tinted piping gel. look at my fish boat pic. if you want water darker, you can tint bc blue first for a deeper look.

I have used both piping gel colored blue and also blue jello. To use the jello you have to remove the cake from where you want the "lake" and then pour the jello in the hole. The piping gel you can just put on top of the cake without cutting out any of the cake.
