How terribly sad. I've never heard of a "downburst". I'm sorry for your loss; hopefully the support you and your community offer her husband helps lessen your grief.
I am so sorry for your tragic loss. May your faith in GOD bring your comfort during this terrrible sad time. We will remember you and your friends family in our prayers.
What words can I say???I guess the Lord needed her home with him now...It is such a terrible thing to happen...May the fond memories that u have of ur friend bring u happiness...God Bless U...
I'm truly sorry for your loss and the loss of her family. My prayers are with you all.
My heart and prayers go out to everyone involved. That is such a tragic situation. Im so sorry for your loss.
I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends family.
My condolences, words never really help, some answers never found, at least not those, which we can understand, but a hug, be it real or virtual can linder the pain at least for a second. Sending you loads of virtual hugs and hopefully some relief for a couple of seconds
thank you everyone for you kind words! the national weather service has said it was for sure a microburst, which is a small downburst which would explain why just the house was taken and the garage and stairs were spared. the house was anchored down with 18 steel cables and the stairs weren't achored down at all. its just so crazy how random and unexplainable things can be. i'm going to try to post a picture that was taken by airplane. its small but you can see the garage is fine and where the house was, and where it landed and if you look close you can see the white stairs still standing.
since our community is very small (the town has around 200) almost everyone went our and cleaned up what was salvageable and at the request of my friends husband, the remaining debris was burned. i guess he didn't want to come home and see what was left. he is getting released from the hospital today and plans for the memorial will be made when he is out.
again, thank you everyone for the kind words. its nice to have someplace to go and "talk"
wow I am so very sorry...I will be praying for your friends family at this difficult time...May God give them a peace that surpasses all understanding
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and her family. How tragic for you to lose such a close friend, and how doubly tragic that you lost a teacher...I hope you will honor her memory and love of cake decorating by continueing to decorate...even though I am sure it will be difficult for you at times. I am sure she will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
I am so sorry for your loss and the community's loss. I too am from a small town and know how devistating tragedies can be. Praying for peace in your hearts for all of you.
