I am helping a friend cover square mini cakes in fondant this week. I am pretty new with fondant and she has never used it before so I wanted some advice before we jumped into making them.
Because the cakes are mini, do you let the excess fondant go around the bottom egde or do you still cut the fondant at the bottom of the sides? Any tips on this?
Thanks!!

I have just finished covering 64 of these.
I finish the fondant at the bottom of the sides.
There is a cutter made for the 2" square cakes if thats the size you are doing I would recommend buying it if you can as it will save heaps of time.[/img]

I use a square or round cutter that will fit over the covered cake to cut the exess off at the bottom

A tip: make sure you have loads of time, they are a real PITA to make
