HEllo. I am very new to cake decorating. I am going to make a rocket cake for my sons 4th birthday. I plan to make the rocket out of several 6 x 3" cakes which I will tier like a wedding cake and cover in fondant. Then I plan to angle it 45 degrees onto a 9 x 13" cake like it is taking off.

What is the best way to angle it? I plan to put a couple support rods in the base and I will also add a support rod at a 45 degree angle (my husband will make some sort of board with a rod at 45 degrees). My fear is the cake will eventually fall off the rods due to the angle. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
