I need advice on how to do this cake.
1. What would you make the antlers out of?
2. What would you make the head out of?

I plan on the small chest part being cake but I didn't know if the head should be rice krispie treats. I didn't know if the antlers should be chocolate or royal icing. Also, I'm not sure how to make the antlers stay in the head whether cake or RKT.

Thanks so much for your help!!

It looks to me like the head is cake also, from the size of the items in the background the cake isn't all that big and the head appears to be on a cakeboard and supported by the "chest" cake.

I would make the antlers and ears out of gumpaste and just make them far enough ahead to allow enough time for drying. I would make them on long sharpened dowels that could be stabbed all the way through the cakes , through the center cake board (that supports the head) and into the base.

I totally agree about the dowels. Very cute idea.
