I've been asked to make a cake for someone celebrating their first anniversary being sober. I've searched for alcoholic, sober, sobriety, and am only getting a few results. I can't search for AA because the string is too small, even though people can use AA as a keyword. Does anyone have any links to any AA cakes, or any other ideas on how to search? Thanks!

Since there are really no visual items or symbols that come to mind, why not focus on what this person is/does. Hiking? Boating? Biking? Working? Family? Positive things about the person's life.

If you use google images to search sobriety symbols you may get something....The AA symbol is a triangle inside a circle...I googled "alcoholics anonymous +cakes" and found some images. One cake had the symbol with the # years sober inside the triangle. The other thing I think of is the serenity prayer. HTH get you started on idea.

What about a cake that looks like a sobriety chip/medallion?

My husband's keychain says "one day at a time". Maybe you could use that? http://www.barefootsworld.net/aachips.html pics of coins there...

I think a very good visualization is 12 footsteps - AA is built on 12 steps and many people see it as 12 footsteps you have to take.
(My ex-husband had that tattoed on his back actually ( sober alcoholic)

Or maybe a phrase or two from the Serenity prayer, also a well known AA thing:

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
