I have to make a birthday cake for a 1 year old next weekend.. I think I might be totally in over my head.. I attached all of the photos that were given to me as samples... Im just freakin out!

I made that cake for my son's birthday last year. It isn't that bad and I am a beginner!!!! Let me know if I can help you with anything.

I guess I dont even know where to start.. how do you make the walls??

The brown parts on the bottom tier? Just mix some chocolate fondant and some vanilla fondant together to get that color. Cut out wide strips. Use the back of a knife to imprint them. Put the **tiniest** bit of water (just to make it damp) on the back, then slap 'em on the cake.

just what leah_s said. I used the fondant to cut out strips (cut them into different shaped strips), then used a knife to imprint them to make it look like wood, water and put them on. The idea is to make htem look like a wooden fence.

How about the lettering though..is that about finding the right letter cutout?
