Has anyone here ever used Hero Fruit Compounds? I need to make lemon, raspberry and peach fillings for a cake and all three are available but they are rather expense, to me. I thought I might just add some to the buttercream in between the layers so I probably would not need a whole jar of each but could use it later. Any comments would be welcome.

I use Icing Fruits and they have been fine.  Not quite as concentrated, but cheaper for the initial purchase.  I think I figured out that although Hero costs more, you use much less, and the cost difference disappears in the long run.

ALeah, are those the fruit compounds from BakeMark? I want to try the fruits, since I currently use preserves or jam, or all fruit, type spreads in the jelly section, and most of them are over $3 for a tiny jar. I am afraid to buy a bunch of something I will hate, though. I am afraid it will taste like H&H filling... Day-glow chemical soup. Ick!
