I'm preparing to work with modeling chocolate for the first time. Do I need to add the color while making the modeling chocolate? Or can I simply brush the paint onto the molded chocolate?

Also, if anyone has a good recipe on making modeling chocolate, that would be much appreciated! I've google'd so many different ways of doing it and would like to know what is most effective for the people here on CC.
