Hi All, I made a sheet cake on Saturday and ran into a problem I had a few weeks ago. The cake is cooked all the way through but the top and especially the bottom are sticky on the outside. Do they just need to cook longer? I am using the WASC recipe.
Thanks!

It's the nature of the beast.

I make WASC all of the time and I find them "sticky" on top. I don't notice it much on the bottoms because I use parchment.

Since I level all of my cakes, the sticky part gets eaten by the resident cake tester--my DH. I get no complaints. icon_lol.gif

As long as the rest of the cake is fine, it doesn't bother me a bit.

Same here! You can lay a sheet of wax paper or plasic wrap across it, and pull it off, all the "sticky" will come off with the wrap. OR trim it, and as my grandson calls them, have cake "skins" for a snack! icon_smile.gif
