Anyne know how to make an arctic roll cake? Sponge with a cylinder of ice cream in the middle... mad this before?
i haven't made an ice cream cake like that before, but i have made rolled cakes. i make the cake in an 11x15 pan and flip it out of the pan right away onto a tea towel dusted with a good amount of powdered sugar. then roll it up into a jelly roll so that as it cools, it doesn't mind being in that shape. when the cake is totally cool,i would think you would have to soften the ice cream and then unroll the cake, add the ice cream, roll it back up and freeze.
