Going To Try To Make A Ladybug Cake

and am needing to know the best way to keep the head on. I was going to use half of the Wilton ball cake pan for the body and RKT for the head. Do I just cut a dowel and stick it in the cake? I'm sorry for sounding dumb, but this is my first time trying to do a 3D themed cake!

yep...thats exactly what I did!! my ladybug was actually sitting on a sheetcake and the head kinda rested on the cake below, but I'd think it would stay on even if it hadn't been touching at the bottom.

I carved a cake so it was rounded, covered it in red fondant, then put a half circle of black fondant. I did forget to put the antenna though. It was quick, easy, everybody loved it, and I didn't have to worry about what you are right now. You can see it if you go to my pictures.
