I just took a order for a 30th B-Day cake. Does anyone have any tip on how to do the lid on the open gift box. Thanks

You could use a square or rectangular pan and cover it with gum paste and let it dry for a few days then use it as the lid.

No problem. Just remember to unmold it from the pan (I failed to mention that!).

Do you just cover the plain styro foam or add layer of butter cream first? and how do you get it smooth?

all i do is use a little water on the foam to help the fondant stick. and also, i make sure my fondant is a little on the thicker side. It has worked every time. you can see in the tiffany box in my pics, and the stacked box confirmation one too. The purple box is the only one that's not super smooth...i was in a hurry and it was too thin.
