Hello,

I am trying to make a bonnet cake (sort of like a red hat soceity hat) with a rounded top. I read somewhere to use a Pyrex glass mixing bowl and bake some cake batter in that. However, the bowls (at least the ones I have) arent truly round. They are bowl shaped, but also have a flat spot.

I am sure I could round out the top with bc, but wondering if anyone has any advice on the best way to make the dome top of a bonnet/hat on a cake.

Thanks. Cheers! icon_smile.gif

I would use half of a ball shape pan.

I would of said the wilton ball pan or a pyrex dish and carve the top to a curve if it has a flat spot.
