hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows the lifespan of buttercream, I made it on Saturday and have a ton leftover. I'm making a cake on Sunday, is it going to be toxic by then?
No, it will be fine. If it were me I would put it in a tupperware-type container and put in the fridge, then take out the day before you start decorating so it is back to room temp.
I use Indydebi's recipe and it will keep fine at room tempature for up to two weeks in a covered container. I always make two or three batches when I make icing so that I always have it on hand.
Awesome!! it already is in the fridge in a tupperwear so all is good lol!
For the future, it also freezes really well if you want it for a longer period of time.
