How do I apply edible gold leaf to fondant
With a very small fine soft brush.
Place your GL where you want it and gently stroke the GL in one direction.
There should be enough moisture in the fondant for it to adhere too.
If not - give you cake a VERY LIGHT spritz/mist of water or clear alcohol - JUST THE LIGHTEST OF MISTS.
First I slightly dampened the fondant then I used a gilder's tip to pick up the gold leaf (it is extremely fragile) and laid it on the dampened area, then smoothed it very gently with cotton wool wrapped in a piece of soft fabric. A bit tricky at first but not overly difficult. I did a lot of research first because it is expensive!
