What brand of butter does everyone use in their buttercream?

Is one brand any better than another?

Ditto LisaMarie86...

I use the salted and unsalted from Sam's when I can.

I also get mine from Sams Club, although I use unsalted, and occasionally when I find cream on sale, I make my own..

I use Land O Lakes. I don't know if one is better than another for buttercream, though. I have just always used it for baking so I use in my bc, too.

I also use Land O Lakes. Unsalted of course.

I use the store brand from ALDI; a small discount store; sells usually for about $1.89 per pound. I use the unsalted in my buttercream and the salted in my cakes unless the recipes specifies otherwise. No problems and love it when it is on sale for $1.49 but sometimes it is over $2.00 which is probably still cheap compared to Lake O Lakes.

If I really want to splurge I get Kerrygold butter [www.kerrygold.com]. It's an Irish butter and it's so rich and creamy. I make rolls just to have an excuse to eat it! We call it "crack" butter at my house because it's addicting. icon_smile.gif mmm butter. Anyway, it makes the best buttercream (swiss, american, you name it). Oh, but it tends to be a bit softer and more expensive than other butters.

So if you really want to treat yourself try it.

I would only use it on client cakes tho if I charged for a deluxe flavor.
