I am using the Wilton separator plates between stacked layers. I really want to complete the cake before transporting. Will it help to secure the cake board to the plate with BC or RI?
or even hot glue?
I'm really interested in this because I thought you could just put your cake directly on the separator plates instead of using cake boards. The only time I've used them was in Wilton Class 3 so I guess I just don't remember correctly. I have been asked to make a wedding cake using these with hidden pillars so I will be watching this topic. Thanks for the post.
My understanding is that the separator plate can get scratched when cutting a cake that is placed directly on the plate.
