i have tried many buttercream and cream cheese icings, and they always come out a little runny!, especially the crm cheese icing can anyone please help? i tried meringue powder, cream of tartar, and more conf. sugar. i don't like it too sweet so don't want to keep adding more sugar, but i really need the icing to get thicker, so that it will maintain the rose look for cupcake bouquets.

How much liquid are you adding?
