I would like to try to make a spiral staircase out of fondant, I was thinking about just using a basic stair plan but not sure if that will work.

Anyone have any idea what would be the best way to make one that will hold up?

If not, would you know where I could purchase one?

TIA

what type of spiral staircase? one that is open between the steps, a real spiral that makes at least one full turn and goes almost straight up? or one of those grand staircases that kind of only makes a half turn? i think maybe if you gave more detail it might help to narrow down the people who could give you ideas.

I would add Tylose to your fondant and create the spiral sides to the stair case first and let it dry. Then you can add the actual steps. You can also take Tylose and mix in a little water and let it set for several minutes. It makes a wonderful fondant glue.
