I am making a cake for a Chinese man marrying an traditional American woman. She wants the cake all 'girly' but I would also like to do something for the Chinese side of the family. Whether it is making something on the side or whatever.

Any traditional customs I could do?

perhaps you can subtly incorporate chinese characters that represent love and unity. They are very beautiful and, I think, would enhance any cake.
