I am planning on painting a gumpaste camera tonight, but I don't have vodka and I painted something earlier using clear vanilla and it is still not dry... What else can I mix the gel icing color with to paint so it will dry?? I have rum and tequila... will one of those work the same as vodka?? I can't just go out and get some either, I live in a dry county and the nearest liquor store is an hour away in any direction. Thanks for your help!!

Do you have any lemon extract? It works just like vodka

I don't have any but I can easily go out and buy some... Does it dry better than the vanilla extract??

Oh yes! It works great! There is enough alcohol in it that it dries just like vodka. I have tried other extracts with no luck. I know there is a reason but I can't think of it

I really only have one shot at this... so that is what is making me a little nervous using something I haven't before. But thank you very much!! I am going to go with it... wish me luck!!
