I only know ho to do the butter cream but I hate it I don't like how it tastes any recipes? were I buy my cakes I think the use whipped cream to make the frosting any ideas.

Indydebi's buttercream is the only shortening based buttercream I've made that I actually like. I've never tried sugarshacks but I'm sure it's good as well.

If you don't like american buttercream have you ever tried Swiss Meringue Buttercream or Italian Meringue Buttercream? I make the Well Dressed Cake SMBC recipe (found on this site in recipes) and it is soooo good. I can eat it by the spoonful. You have to add alot of flavoring to the recipe or it taste like butter. I use 6 ounces of melted white chocolate in mine. Not the white chips but the Baker's White Chocolate squares in the box.

I don't like whipped cream icings but there are recipes for those as well on cc.
